Aims for 2010

I cant believe were going in 2010 already!!! This is the year that i'm going to make sure Vixy is out there in the Fashion world. There are so many things I want to achieve this year, there doesnt seem enough time, but im going to make them happen. Firstly I want to start selling some pieces in local Cardiff boutiques, i also want to get as much press coverage of my work as possible and get photographs of my work in Magazines. I want to get involved with Margin London, http://www.margin.tv/ another showcase of up and coming designers. In Birmingham Clothes show 2010, i plan to have an exhibition space, all this in the hope of getting into Vauxhall Fashion Scout 2011http://www.vauxhallfashionscout.co.uk/, the new designers part of London Fashion week, with uni and work it should be a pretty busy year but im looking forward to it!!Happy 2010!

Eco Friendly Fashion

Check out this dress i made completely out of Plastic bags (predominantly the IKEA blue bag), Recycled materials and fabric scraps on display in Ikea, Cardiff Bay in early 2010. Im really interested in the idea of finding different, more eco-friendly answers to Fashion, im also starting to put designs together for the metro recreate fashion competition 2010; http://www.metrorecreate.co.uk/; where the breif is to make a garment completely out of the Cardiff Metro Newspaper, should be a challenge.

Photoshoot of 'Street Party' Autumn winter 2009/10

I'd like to say a massive thankyou to my models Amy Sullivan (the blonde) and Holly Jones(the brunette/redhead) they look amazing in these photos and really show off the clothes well. Apart from the white background studio shots the rest were taken either in or outside of Bar Cwtch in Cardiff bay, which turned out to be a perfect location with its quirky interior. Was good fun taking the snaps on a pretty busy weeknight in the bar, although rather my model than me posing with lots of punters having a look whats going on!

FASHION SHOWCASE WALES

SUNDAY DECEMBER 6TH 2009

CARDIFF COAL EXCHANGE
On the Sunday just gone i exhibited a collection of 10 outfits (one of them my gallery model) and the rest for the catwalk at Fashion Showcase Wales under the title of 'Street Party'. A 'street' themed collection with influences of Banksy and Barbara Kruger, incorporating lots of bright mesh, leatherette and heavily painted and stitched fabrics. It was an amazing event and well worth the 3 months of designing and making I put into it. My models carried the clothing so well and it was so great seeing my collection on the catwalk at such a big event. Id like to say a massive thankyou to Kate Handley who made it all happen as well as all my girlies and mum who came to support me x.
